Class Descriptions
-
In this class, the students will gain an appreciation for two types of art: oil paintings and handicrafts. Students should expect to learn about paintings from the past one week, and the next week they will get a chance to make a craft. (I.e. first Friday - Art Appreciation, third Friday- Handicrafts.)
-
The class will focus on learning about a specific type of art/technique. The students will plan a piece of art one week, and then the following lesson he/she will be facilitating the plan. (The lessons will likely be Pointillism, sculpting, paint pouring, a multimedia deco, podge box.)
-
Through demonstration, experiments, and discussion, we’ll discuss science and engineering principles that explore the mechanics behind things and the way they work.
-
Each class, we will either be playing a game (board, card, logic, puzzle) promoting cooperation, communication, strategy and critical thinking, or we will be learning how certain things are made and going through the process. It will be a hands-on, interacting class.
