About us
ECHO stands for Educational Christian Homeschooling Organization. We are a private non-profit organization that provides, through cooperative effort, elective style/non-core classes for homeschooling children which are taught through the lens of the Bible and our Christian beliefs. ECHO has a statement of faith that is non-denominational in nature but Christian in whole. To be a member of ECHO you agree to be like-minded in belief.
We will use the skills of current members to achieve our goals. We may occasionally bring in specialty teachers to teach areas in which we lack experience/proficiency. Our goal is to provide classes only at material/outside teacher cost.
We are a homeschooling advocacy group as well as a learning cooperative, and strive to offer additional social and enrichment opportunities throughout the school year, which we often invite other local homeschooling groups to join with us, including field trips, family night outs, Mom’s night outs, annual Mother-Son hike, Daddy-Daughter Dance, etc. Please let us know if you are willing to help with any of these.
Statement of Faith
About God
God is the creator and ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Genesis 1:1, 26,27: 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2
About Man
Man is made in the image of God, to be like Him in character. He is the supreme object of God's creation. Man sins which, separates us from God.
Genesis 1, Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2; Romans 3:23
About Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Son of God and part of the trinity. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven's glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. It is only by repentance and salvation through Jesus that we are able to spend our eternal life with him. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence.
John 3:16; 1 John 2:25; 5:11-13; Romans 6; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6, John 1:1-5; 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:1-15; 1 Corinthians 15:34; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; 1Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13
About Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.
Romans 5:1; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26
About the Bible
The Bible is God's word to all men. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
II Timothy 3:16; 1:13; II Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 119:105, 160; 12:6
Our Mission
Jesus "echoed" the Father in heaven in all he said and did, to be an example of the Father's love for us. Likewise, we as parents, also aim to be an "echo" of Jesus, in our words and deeds, to our families and community, and to teach our children to be as well.
"Jesus gave them this answer: 'I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.'"
John 5:19
